6 Second Street Tours

#DoorDitch began on Instagram, but it’s nice to extend these things out to new popular formats, in this case Vine. You can follow us on the usual user name DoorDitch.

With many of the #DoorDitch doors appearing on the same street, 6 second street tours make a nice addition to the DoorDitch collection. The streets below are probably two of the biggest and busiest when it comes to #DoorDitch sightings in one place.

DoorDitch @ Moo

image

I sent DoorDitch through to the guys at Moo, as they were looking for some projects that have used their printing. They liked it so it has a nice write up over on their site but even better - the cards and stickers are also on show in the shop they have at Box Park in Shoreditch.

DoorDitch #1

Still being a fan of print and magazines in a increasingly digital world another merge fo the two areas seemed like a good idea. Also aiming to make more of the stories, not just the pictures. A zine style publication, easy to print and hand out at just 4 pages but it can also spread the word of DoorDitch and some of the stories so far wider through Issuu. We’ll try and keep them regular as there’s still plenty of other stories to share.

Fred
‘Red or Dead’, Fred would say
Before he met his judgement day
He never led, or wed, and some said ‘in-bred’, but few knew he was well-read.
In times of dread he fled, behind the red door
His head on the bed, where he’d silently snore, until one day it bled, and he breathed no more,
behind the red door

‘Red or Dead’, Fred would say

Before he met his judgement day

He never led, or wed, and some said ‘in-bred’, but few knew he was well-read.

In times of dread he fled, behind the red door

His head on the bed, where he’d silently snore, until one day it bled, and he breathed no more,

behind the red door

Domestic Waste Only
Dried blood flaking like rust on doors; highlighting the graffiti of scars old and new. A lifetime’s work, the white of new skin, the creamy faded marks of the older injuries… carved into the skin.
The lights have gone out now, one wound too many draining the spark of life. ‘Domestic Waste Only’: a fitting epitaph to the story of abuse.

No. 3
In No. 3, that was me.
I lived there at No. 3
The rooms were small, and dark, and damp
But No. 3 was where I camped
I’d make my tea
And sit in silence
Hiding from the sound of violence
No-one ever troubled me
Behind the door of No. 3
I quite liked it in there really
Even though a little dreary
I felt safe enough to snore
Behind my No. 3 front door
Now when I walk past I stare
And have to stop myself from peeking
I think about the times we shared, and ponder
Who is No. 3 now keeping?

Tim Adams created this great piece of DoorDitch artwork in his own hand line drawn style.

Using the hash tag where it all began #doorditch the wood like line style lends itself nicely and the rough eroding bottom edges really set it off.

An amazing addition to the wall.
